Gary Matern
VP- Managing Partner

Gary is a proven leader and pioneer in the modern automotive industry.  He sets the standard for putting customer firsts and building incredible teams that deliver excellence, every day.

Gary began his career as a salesperson with the Van Tuyl Organization in Decatur, Ill., and by the early '90s had become a general manager and partner in the largest group of privately held automotive dealerships in United States.

He joined the O’Brien Automotive Team as General Manager/Partner of Capital Dodge Kia in January 2001  He has a passion for what he does the organization quickly capitalized on his strengths making him the director of operations, overseeing all 10 dealerships in Florida, Georgia, Illinois and California.  With the new responsibility he successfully managed more than 500 employees.  

Gary is now vice president and Managing Partner of one of Fort Myers best businesses, O’Brien Auto Park of Ft. Myers and serves on the Regional Hyundai Dealer Council.

Gary is a devoted family man and enjoys time with his wife and two daughters.
