The 4.6 trim offers a 4.6 liter V8 engine with 378 horsepower and 324 pound-feet of torque. The 5.0 model and the 5.0 R-Spec models offer a 5.0 liter direct injected V8 engine which produces 429 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque.

Standard safety features that are offered with the 2012 Hyundai Genesis include side curtain airbags, front side airbags, rear side airbags, active front head restraints, four wheel anti lock brakes with emergency brake assist, traction control and stability control, and more. Optional safety features available for the 2012 Hyundai Genesis include rear parking sensors, lane departure warning system, a rear view camera and more. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the 2012 Hyundai Genesis with its highest possible safety rating of “Good” resulting from its frontal offset crash tests, its side impact crash tests and its roof strength tests.
